Yes. All of our products are dishwasher safe. There are many reasons why some stainless steel products are hand wash only, or "not recommended" for the dishwasher. It may be to protect the exterior paint finish, to protect the chemical resins that leach when heated, or it may be because of the interior seam that weakens with heat. It could be because of the non-dishwasher safe parts such as the clasps, lids, seals, straws. We wanted safe, but we also wanted simple, so go ahead and drop them in the dishwasher!
Refrigerator- Yes. The containers are excellent for storing all types of food, including the most fragrant or acidic foods. No more tomato stains or lingering food odors from traditional containers. Microwave- No. These are metal product and should never be used in a microwave. They can, however, go in an oven up to 450 degrees F. You'll likely want to reheat at about 350degrees. Unlike glass or ceramic, stainless steel heats up rapidly.
Yes, the containers can go in the freezer and are great for storing all types of food. For kids at school or even for work, freezing yogurt in a DALCINI™ Stainless container can work as a cold pack for the rest of your lunch and ensure your yogurt stays cold. Do not over fill.
Stainless steel is an alloy, meaning it is a mix of metals. 18/8 is a simple classification that indicates the amount of 2 ingredients; chromium and nickel. ie 18/8 is 18% chromium 8% nickel. This very simplistic classification is not an indicator of quality as it does not indicate which other metals have been added. ie you can have high quality 18/8 and a very low quality 18/8. Most stainless steel experts agree that knowing the series the raw material is from ie 200 or 300 series, is a indicator of how the material will hold up in its intended use. Using this classification, we use food grade and medical grade stainless steel (201, 304 and 316).
Every DALCINI™ Stainless container is hand crafted in India and every container has its slight imperfections. These imperfections should not affect the products usage. Our containers are not chemically dipped for shine, and each container is hand made and hand crafted.
Containers may have small scratches. This is considered normal. The containers are all manually buffed and not chemically dipped for shine.
